Day 2 (Monday, 19th September): City Tour & Presentations

By Emma and Srdjan

The sun is shining and our alarm clocks are ringing, some of us need a little longer to get up than others. The first night in the flat went very well for everyone, all of us looked very well rested and didn't want to leave their beds. By the time everyone had showered, eaten and got dressed, we went for a walk through the city. Yesterday we experienced the city in the dark. Today we walked almost 17'000 steps through the city.

We went to a place where we could look at the hill "Arthur's Seat". Mrs Hänggi and Mrs Franc gave us an introduction to today and its programme. In small groups we had prepared presentations on places and sights and presented them to the class in our groups.

As already mentioned, the 1st presentation was about the hill "Arthur's Seat", presented by Kyra and Lara. Sophie and Teresa took on the Palace of Holyrood, after wich Noel and Niccolò told us about the Scottish Parliament. After the short lunch break, Noah and Léandre talked about the Vaults. The Edinburgh Castle was presented to us by Annika and Livia and a little further on, on Victoria Street, Kadiatou and Srdjan gave their presentation. At the Greyfriar's Kirkyard, Emma and Alina gave us a short tour of this slightly spooky place. The grand finale were Nikolai and Remy in Dean Village. So we were walking and listening for 6 hours. In some places where there were a lot of people and traffic, a few students had to fight a lot against the noise, but you could still take away enough information!

After that, we had free time and walked around the city, went food shopping, some cooked their own food, some went out to eat and in the evening we listened to music together as a class, danced or played games.
